Medical services offered at Park View Elementary School are to assess and care for students who become ill during the school day, provide first aid, control communicable disease, evaluate and respond to trauma and medical emergencies, administer medications during school hours, and provide necessary nursing care for students with special needs. The nurse also provides health assessments (screenings) by grade level and communicates any defects found in vision, hearing, blood pressure, growth, etc. to the parents/guardians. The nurse also actively participates in all areas of the special education process as a member of the Child Study Committee. Health records are kept on each student and are filed in their permanent educational folder.

Park View Elementary School  has a full time guidance counselor on staff. Mrs.S.  Perry-Wallace works full time with kindergarten through sixth grade students. The counselor provides whole group and small group  instruction, as well as individual counseling sessions. Please contact her if there is a concern.  Mrs. Perry-Wallace may be reached at 757-393-8647.

Presently Park View partners with LEVOC Family Services, an in-house day treatment program. This agency provides counselors who are ready to assist students with school issues, classroom discipline, study skills, coping skills, stress, and anxiety techniques.  For further information contact Dr. Flowers or Mrs. Wynn-Inman at the school.
