SERVICES OFFERED AT PARK VIEW

MEDICAL SERVICES

Medical services offered at Park View Elementary School are to assess and care for students who become ill during the school day, provide first aid, control communicable disease, evaluate and respond to trauma and medical emergencies, administer medications during school hours, and provide necessary nursing care for students with special needs. The nurse also provides health assessments (screenings) by grade level and communicates any defects found in vision, hearing, blood pressure, growth, etc. to the parents/guardians. The nurse also actively participates in all areas of the special education process as a member of the Child Study Committee. Health records are kept on each student and are filed in their permanent educational folder.
